Keep Track of Baby Shower Gift Cards Before You Lose Them

Baby showers produce more gift cards per hour than almost any other event. Target, BuyBuy Baby, Amazon, a diaper service — by the end of one afternoon you’re holding eight or ten cards, several of them for the same store from guests who didn’t coordinate with each other.

Why they get lost

Then the baby actually arrives, and organizing gift cards drops to somewhere near the bottom of every list you have. The cards scatter — one in a shower gift bag, one in the diaper bag, a couple in a kitchen drawer — because there was never one quiet moment to sit down and sort them. There still isn’t.

Catch them as they come, not all at once

You don’t need that quiet moment. Photograph a card whenever you happen to have thirty seconds — unpacking a gift bag, waiting for a bottle to warm, whenever.
